1 the resources you have for living the christian life

2 Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say, then
Romans 6:1-4 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

3 Romans 6:5-7 If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin — because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

4 The sin life was ushered in by Adam.

5 The Law of Moses was brought in to help us recognize what sin was.

6 The Law of Moses was brought in to help us recognize what sin was
The Law of Moses was brought in to help us recognize what sin was. But - this increased sin instead of stopping it!

7 Lord Jesus extended His grace to cover your sins by dying on the cross!

8 Question: If the Lord is happy covering our sins why stop sinning?

9 Answer: God wants your response to the cross to be a transformed life of gratitude.
Romans 12:1-2 - Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.

10 Your transformed life is your gift back to God
Your transformed life is your gift back to God. He will give you the resources to successfully live it!
