2 Target audience The target audience is the particular demographic in society that an advertisement is aimed at e.g. teenagers aged between 12-16, parents, women aged between A company will have to make sure that their advertisement appeals to their target audience.

4 Branding Branding: creating a name, design or symbol to distinguish your product from other products. Identify the brands from the following logos. Who will be the first to complete this exercise?

6 Re-branding is a very expensive exercise.
Recently for example, the company Eircom spent €16m re- naming and rebranding their company as Eir. Why do you think they needed to re-brand?

7 Slogan Slogans are short, memorable groups of words used to help sell a product. e.g. L’Oreal: ‘Because I’m worth it’; Boots: ‘Trust Boots’ Homework: write down the slogans used by 10 different companies. Pick 2 slogans and explain why you think they are effective.
