On page #9 of the text entitled ‘Koala Lou’, Koala Lou is having a difficult time because her mother is giving her less attention since the arrival of her new brothers and sisters. When my son Nickolas was first born our oldest son Jackson struggled with having to share mom and dad with his new baby brother. Like Koala Lou, Jackson got upset at times and acted out. Unfortunately, Jackson often acted out in a negative way. He would try to hit his brother or throw his toys and books. On the other hand, Koala Lou decided she would strive to be the best at the gum tree climbing event in the Bush Olympics, which is a much more positive response to the situation.
