How are they similar and how are they different from one another? - Similar – Both are receptor cells, they are both located in the retina. Different – rods see black/white/grey while cones see color and sharp detail. There are more rods, and cones are located in the center of the visual field while rods are concentrated in the peripheries. 2) What is your favorite color? What do you think is the most common favorite color? - University of Maryland sociologist Philip Cohen asked nearly 2,000 men and women: "What's your favorite color?" Blue turned out to be most popular across the board, followed by green for men and purple for women. Red was the fourth most popular for both men and women.
