2 What is Information Text?
Informational books or articles are about factual information or events Science and Social Studies books are informational text

4 Bloom and Grow is the title.
A title tells the name of the book or article. The title gives me an idea of what the text is about.

5 Text Features All informational text has features that can help the reader to better understand the text. It is important for readers to look at the text features to get an idea of what the text is about before reading it

6 Photograph/Illustration
A picture can be a photograph or an illustration. A picture helps the reader see details about the text. Photograph A photograph helps the reader see details of something real.

7 Caption A caption is a sentence that tells about a photograph or illustration. A caption gives me more information about a picture. The sunflower turns toward the sun

8 Label A label is a word or phrase that tells about a photograph or illustration. A label names the parts of a picture.

9 Bold Print Bold print is darker or brighter. Bold print tells the reader that a word is important. A field is a place where plants grow.

10 Heading Where do seeds come from? Seeds come in many shapes and sizes. Seeds need water, light and a warm place to grow. Seeds have parts to help them grow. A heading tells the reader what a section is about. A heading gives me an idea of what a passage is about.
