June 7, Homer Plessy (1/8 black) bought a ticket for the “whites only”Louisana railroad car- was detained Plessy lawyers argued against violation of freedom and the 14th amendment - Judge Ferguson rejected it-Plessy was convicted Segregation is legitimatized USA “equal but separate”
