3. Survey Information Aim/Objective:
The aim of this survey was to find out what the general public considered to be the worst issue in the world for the future and the one that most needed to be fixed.
How did we get our data:
We asked people of all ages and sexes of the general public to get a general understanding of everyone's ideas and opinions in society. We surveyed students from Fahan School and New Town High. Together we surveyed people at Salamanca Market. There are a wide range of people who come to Salamanca including many tourists and people of all ages.
Who did we survey?
We surveyed 51 women and 51 men. We also surveyed 60 girls and 60 boys.

7. Analysing the data
In the data it is evident that majority of the men chose global warming and climate change to be the most important issue with 15 votes. Conflict and war had the next highest amount of votes which was 11. The data shows that women had similar results with most of the women voting for Global warming and climate change and conflict and war with 15 votes for both of these. The girls results were very different to the adults, the data represents that the top votes for the girls were child labour with 12 votes and world poverty with 15 votes. The result of the boys were different to the adults and the girls with 16 votes towards refugee settlement and 13 towards global warming and climate change and racial discrimination.
Once the votes of everyone were added up there was an obvious leader of interest which was global warming and climate change which had 50 votes. The next highest score was world poverty which scored 38 votes. After that came conflict and war with 30 votes. This shows the top three votes were separate by quite a bit and weren't remarkably close. The next five top votes came in reasonably close. The lowest votes were gay rights and other with scores of four and five.

8. Discussion and improvements
To improve our survey:
We could have asked lots of different schools instead of just two because all schools are educated differently on issues in the world and this could have effected their decision.
We could have asked people who were alone to get more accurate results because sometimes people's choices are influenced by their friends.
The order that the options were in could have impacted people's decisions as well. For example people may have chosen the first option (climate change and global warming) just because it was up the top. Some people may have been in a rush and decided to not read the bottom options.
People doing the survey could see other people's responses and this could have changed their opinion so we could have recorded response on a separate sheet of paper.

9. Conclusion
In conclusion, after asking 222 people the question ‘If you could change one problem in society for the future, which would it be?’ the strongest vote was global warming and climate change which scored 50 of the votes. There were a few variables which could have changed the outcome dramatically.
