2 AQA Science Students in combined science will get 1 of 17 combinations of grade and this is a double award. Students of Triple Science will get 1 of 9 combinations and will get 3 grades. 11/17/2018

3 AQA Science All students will be taking 6 exams. Combined students have 6 papers at 1hr15mins. Triple have 6 papers at 1hr45mins. 11/17/2018

6 How to maximise the learning from revision in Science

7 Who do you think will do better?
Student 1 Does fifteen hours’ revision; reading through her Revision Guide. Student 2 Does ten hours’ revision two hours making mind-maps two hours creating flash cards of key terms three hours writing timed essays two hours working through past papers and looking for patterns in the questions asked half an hour doing the hardest question they could find, half an hour talking it through with their teacher. Then they spend five hours shopping with their friends and watching television.

9 Choose a topic Answer a question
Look at the specification and choose one topic e.g. Quantitative Chemistry Answer a question Look at the marks allocated for the question. Allocate typically 1 min per mark.

11 Break information up Scan the information and highlight the headings / subheadings. Under one heading, scan the passage and highlight the keywords. Only once you have done this tackle reading the whole passage Students skim read page and think because they recognise it they know it. Recognition and recall are two very different things.
