2 Promises to the Lord Psalm 101 I Will
Psalm 101 (David’s promise to rule his Kingdom with mercy and justice) By and large he kept his promises: (2 Samuel 8:15), “So David reigned over all Israel; and David administered judgment and justice to all his people.” The king’s faith is seen in a series of “I will” statements. In these declarations we see God’s attitude and actions both toward the faithful and the wicked. (Read Psalm 101)… Psalm 101

3 I Will Sing Praises (101:1) (84:4); Ephesians 5:19-20
(Psalm 101:1), “I will sing of mercy and justice; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises.”  Importance of Worship in Our Lives (Psalm 84:4), “Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; They will still be praising You.” The Content and the Character of Our Singing is Crucial (Ephesians 5:19-20), “speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.”

4 I Will Sing Praises (101:1) Behave Wisely (101:2)
(84:4); Ephesians 5:19-20 Behave Wisely (101:2) Romans 16:19 Colossians 4:5-6 (Psalm 101:2), “I will behave wisely in a perfect way. Oh, when will You come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” Be Wise in what is Good (Romans 16:19), “For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.” As a parent, a spouse, as elders, before adversaries My influence must be good! (Colossians 4:5), “Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.”

5 I Will Sing Praises (101:1) Behave Wisely (101:2)
(84:4); Ephesians 5:19-20 Behave Wisely (101:2) Romans 16:19 Colossians 4:5-6 Set Nothing Wicked before My Eyes (101:3-4) Ephesians 5: Psalm 19:14 (Psalm 101:3-4), “I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me. 4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not know wickedness.” Protect Ourselves Against Lust and its Sins (Ephesians 5:3-4), “But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.” (Psalm 19:14), “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.”

6 I Will Sing Praises (101:1) Behave Wisely (101:2)
(84:4); Ephesians 5:19-20 Behave Wisely (101:2) Romans 16:19 Colossians 4:5-6 Set Nothing Wicked before My Eyes (101:3-4) Ephesians 5: Psalm 19:14 Not Endure Slander and Pride (101:5) James 4: Proverbs 10:18 (Psalm101:5), “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, Him I will destroy; The one who has a haughty look and a proud heart, Him I will not endure.” Slander Proceeds from Pride & Hatred (James 4:11-12), “Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?” (Proverbs 10:18), “Whoever hides hatred has lying lips, And whoever spreads slander is a fool.”

7 I Will Sing Praises (101:1) Behave Wisely (101:2)
(84:4); Ephesians 5:19-20 Behave Wisely (101:2) Romans 16:19 Colossians 4:5-6 Set Nothing Wicked before My Eyes (101:3-4) Ephesians 5: Psalm 19:14 Not Endure Slander and Pride (101:5) James 4: Proverbs 10:18 Bless the Faithful (101:6) Hebrews 12: Matthew 25:34-40 (Psalm 101:6), “My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, That they may dwell with me; He who walks in a perfect way, He shall serve me.” We Must Stand with and Encourage those who are Faithful to the Lord. (Hebrews 12:12-13), “Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed.”   Faithful Servants Dwell with the King (Matthew 25:34-40), “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me. ‘ 37 " Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You? ' 40 And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”

8 Will you say like David ? …
Conclusion Will you say like David ? … I Will (James 2:18), “But someone will say, ‘You have faith, and I have works.’ Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
