In our extensive efforts to do community service and a good deed for our fellow classmates at the Santa Rosa Junior College, we decided to honor our very own award winning, The Engineering Club by making an everlasting memorial piece.

6. How We Did Such A Thing
The first part of creating a sand cast is to create the shape of the mold. In our case, we made a wooden mold because wood is easy to shape.

7. Preparing the sand
We sift the sand because we want the sand to be loose and soft so it can easily for to the mold.

8. Applying The Mold
Using the wooden mold, we press it into the sand for the liquid metal to form to.
