Wrote and published “Micrographia” Known as the “English Father of Microscopy”

- Key Point #2: coined the term the “cell”. He observed pieces of cork from the bark of a cork tree under the microscope. - His observations led him to popularize the word “cell.”

22 Blocks Cells are like blocks. Each block is stacked upon one another to make something. All of the blocks together make a tower or house. The cells in our body are like the blocks. The cells make up our organs and the organs make up our body. Cells are tiny and cannot by seen unless you have a powerful microscope.

Now there are similarities between us and plants if you can believe it!

Plant and animal cells are both eukaryotic cells. This means both cells hae a true nucleus and they also contain membranes around certain organelles.
