This takes place so that new and existing employees work as effectively as possible TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Staff must cope with changes to their work Training prepares staff for future promotion Ensures all staff have the right skills

OFF-THE-JOB Training through specialist organisations TRAINING Normally more expensive than on-the-job training It is carried out by outside specialists Often leads to new ideas being brought into the business from outside More likely to allow staff to work at their own pace “Can be internal or external”
