3 The World Today One million students in the United States drop out of high school each year. Almost four million adults in East Asia suffer from HIV/AIDS. Three out of four people in Mexico lack formal financial services. One million children in Sub-Saharan Africa die each year from malaria. The world today is filled with inequity.
