How does RAYDEL® Policosanol 10 work?
■ Inhibition of Cholesterol synthesis by regulating HMG-CoA reductase
■ Increasing LDL receptor – dependent processing and the catabolic rate of LDL
HMG-CoA reductase is the main enzyme involved in the cholesterol synthesis pathway. RAYDEL Policosanol 10 works by regulating the activity of the HMG-CoA reductase enzyme which inhibits the synthesis of cholesterol.
It also works by increasing the LDL receptor-dependent processing* in the liver, and by increasing the catabolic rate of LDL.

- and the metabolism of LDL receptors
 It is regulating, NOT competitive antagonism

Its safety and efficacy has been proven by clinical trials.
In the clinical trial, after 12 weeks of treatment, SCWA 10mg/d significantly lowered serum LDL-C by 22.1% (p< ) compared with baseline and placebo. The treatment also reduced significantly (p < ) serum TC versus baseline and placebo (11.7 %) and LDL-C/HDLC ratio (27.9 %), raised HDL-C (9.6 %) (p < 0.01) versus baseline and p < 0.05 versus placebo.
