2 recant (verb)- to say that one no longer holds an opinion or belief.
synonyms: deny, disavow, renounce antonym: accept Example: Bob recanted belief in his religion after having a life-changing experience.

3 saturate (verb)- cause (something) to become thoroughly soaked with liquid so that no more can be absorbed synonyms: soak, drench, permeate antonym: dry Example: The sponge was quickly saturated with water.

4 saturnine (adjective)- (of a person or their manner) slow and gloomy
synonyms: melancholy, glum antonym: cheerful Example: He became very saturnine after he got that D- on the Calc. test.

5 slough (verb)- to be shed, cast off, or discarded
synonym: molt, shed antonym: don Example: The snake sloughed its skin as it grew older.

6 acclamation (noun)- loud and enthusiastic approval, typically to welcome or honor someone or something synonyms: cheer, praise, antonym: criticism Example: The crowd stood and cheered in acclamation after Bob hit a homerun.

7 collusion (noun) - secret or illegal cooperation or conspiracy, especially in order to cheat or deceive others synonyms - conspiracy, intrigue The collusion between Bob and Shaggy to cheat the blackjack tables was eventually discovered by the owner of the casino.

8 imperturbable (adjective)- unable to be upset or excited synonyms - composed, calm
antonyms - excitable, edgy Even after his baby’s birth he was imperturbable to what should have been a very exciting moment.

9 mandate (noun and verb)
noun- official order or commision to do something verb- give someone authority to act in a certain way synonyms - instruct, decree Bob was overjoyed to get a mandate to divorce Shaggy.

10 paltry (adjective)- (of an amount) small or meager
synonyms - inadequate, insufficient antonym: abundant Bob gave Joey a paltry amount of toxic waste.

11 pedantry (noun)- excessive concern with minor details and rules
synonym -literalism, dogmatism Bob was prone to pedantry, and so it was awful to argue with him because he only focused on meaningless details and errors.
