< is less than
> is greater than
= is equal to

Remember that a decimal number is a part of a whole number.
We can think of decimal numbers as fractions when comparing.

5. Example 0.5 is five tenths 0.5 can be written as 5/10 0.5 is also ½

5/10 = ½

0.7 is seven tenths
