3 Jude & Responsibility to God
Remember He is able… Remember He is… Remember He deserves… A. The threat of error is one of many reasons to pray. B. What is “praying in the Holy Spirit”? 1. Paul says the same thing Eph. 6:18 2. Paul also says that we live in the Spirit, walk in the Spirit, worship in the Spirit, love in the Spirit (Gal. 5:25; 6:18; Phili. 3:3; Col. 1:8)—pray in a way that pleases the Holy Spirit because He is God. 3. It would mean the same thing if Jude said “praying in Christ, praying in the Father.” C. Are you doing it? Col. 4:1, The Holy Spirit says 1. continue praying, only to God---no one in Scr prayed to Mary or dead people 2. pray earnestly, with the variety and detail that you read in psalms and from Jesus 3. pray with vigilance, pay attention (and let people know you are praying for them) a. did you pray for our elders and deacons last week? b. our bulletin or Steve’s is an excellent aid to praying with vigilance c. who is someone who knows you well, who needs the gospel of Christ? 4. with thanksgiving (Col. 4:1) for prosperity and adversity
