2 A complete sentence is a group of words that tells a complete idea.
A complete sentence answers these questions: Who? and What is it doing?

3 Example of a Complete Sentence:
The dog ate his bone. Who? The dog What did he do? Ate his bone We can answer our two questions Who? and What did he do? So this is a complete sentence!

4 Example of an Incomplete Sentence:
The big hairy spider. The big hairy spider Who? We don’t know! This is not a complete sentence! What did it do?

5 TIP: Just because a group of words begins with a capital and ends with a period doesn’t mean it is a complete sentence!

The bird flies back to the nest. Who? The bird What does it do? Flies back to the nest This is a COMPLETE sentence!
