3 Chemical Health Trend Alert:
Powdered Caffeine is causing deaths. Ingesting powdered caffeine is very dangerous. Teens tend to underestimate the dangers of use even in very small amounts. A teaspoon of powder can deliver a deadly punch of caffeine and smaller amounts can cause severe health issues.

4 Junior High Knowledge Bowl Team
CONGRATULATIONS to the Junior High Knowledge Bowl team; (from the HS) 9th Graders Lexi Ludowese, Jordan Walter, Brianna Wright, Annie Zheng and Olivia Walsh for advancing to the Sub  Regional Knowledge Bowl Meet on Friday, January 9th in  Marshall MN.   Good Luck! Bus will be leaving the MS at 7:00 a.m. returning around 3:30 p.m.

5 Attention Key Club Members
Key Club’s next meeting is Friday, January 9th at 7:15 am in the Auditorium.  Wear you Key Club Shirt, we will be taking a group picture for the Yearbook. 

6 Interested in Ski Club? The Hutchinson Ski Club begins this Thursday, January 8th.  The bus leaves the Rec Center at 4:30p and returns at approximately 10:00p.  The club meets for six times on Thursday evenings.  Anyone interested in joining should contact the PRCE offices by TOMORROW (Wed.).

8 Attention All Students
Are you a talented story teller or love to read books? Get them involved with the 2015 Creative Writing Contest. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to use their creative imaginations to generate wonderful fiction and nonfiction stories and poems. First place junior and senior winners will receive a $2000 scholarship to SMSU. Submission Deadline - January 16, 2015, Go to

10 Interested in the Spring Play?
Spring Play - Auditions for Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing will be TODAY (Tues.), TOMORROW (Wed.) & Thursday.  Sign up sheet is by the back stage door of the auditorium. Cast of 9 male, 6 Female  3+ additional minor roles.

12 Attention All Students
Something new for Tri 2! After school study hall and detention will be held in room 129 Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15-3:00. Mon. Wed. Friday – Detention will be held in the office conference room.  Every student must sign in with Mrs. Schwantes.

14 REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS!
Students should wait in the foyer after school unless they are with a teacher/advisor or in an activity. Students are not allowed to just “hang out” in the halls.

16 READING LAB READING LAB with Ms. Larson Room 116
EVERY DAY from 2:25-3:30 This includes any subject that requires vocabulary work, reading, and comprehension!

17 Register Your Electronic Devices!
In an effort to prevent theft, as well as increase the likelihood of retrieving stolen or lost items, Officer Berry is offering students the opportunity to register their electronics with him. Please see Officer Berry, Sarah or Kathy in the HS Office for the form!

18 Student Chromebooks Available for Checkout!
Any Student who would like to checkout a Chromebook during the school day must complete a USER AGREEMENT form (must be signed by a parent or guardian). Chromebooks and paperwork are available in the media center. Stop in today to check one out!

19 School Wi-Fi and Streaming
Streaming Media using the School Wi-Fi is for academic purposes! When you stream media, it effects the entire district’s internet speed. Please be mindful of using our technology appropriately. Using our school’s technology is a privilege. It is not ok for you to stream audio from sites such as Pandora, Spotify, I Heart Radio etc. It is not ok to stream video using YouTube, Vimeo, Netflix, etc. unless it is for academic purposes. It is not ok to play streaming/flash games in the computer labs from sites such as Addicting games, Kongregate, Flash-Game, etc. We all thank you for sharing our Wi-Fi responsibly!
