Cover five counties (Calhoun, Holmes, Jackson, Liberty and Washington) The vast majority of our funds are federal Controlled by a 19 member board Majority must be from the private sector Chair and Vice-Chair must be private sector

8 Those Tricky Numbers Month Labor Force Employed Unemployed
Unemployed Percentage 2010 18,938 17,214 1,724 9.1% 2015 17,258 16,252 1,006 5.8% Difference -1,680 -962 -718 -3.3% Despite the fact that fewer people are employed the unemployment rate decreased because of the drop in the size of the labor force. If the labor force had stayed the same size in 2015 as in 2010 the unemployment rate would have been 14.2% which would have been an increase of 5.1% Source: Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Labor Market Information
