Choose a specific literary element (e.g., theme, characterization, structure, point of view, etc.) or literary technique (e.g., symbolism, irony, figurative language, etc.) used by J.D. Salinger in The Catcher in the Rye. Using at least three specific details from chapters 1-11, in a word essay, show how Salinger uses that element or technique to develop Holden Caulfield as a round character (a character who has multiple, complex traits that make him seem like a realistic human being).
