4 Bacteria decompose dead things and waste to recycle nutrients

5 Bacteria create drugs like penicillin and insulin

6 Lactobacteria create cheese and yogurt

7 Bacteria in our intestines digest our food and create vitamins for us

8 Bacteria can contaminate food, creating toxins. Ex: food poisoning

9 Bacteria will spoil food and shorten shelf life

10 Pathogen = a BACTERIA, virus, or other microorganism that can cause disease
Streptococcus is a bacteria that harms us and leads to Strep Throat

11 When phytoplankton grow out of control = Red Tide can lead to toxins building up in shellfish, makes us sick!!
