Presented by Dr Cathy Harding, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Angharad John, Assistant Psychologist at Liberty Care

2 Aims of the presentation
To share with you how and why we use particular outcome measures within Liberty Care Including individual and service-level outcome measures as well as the wider organisational-level outcome measures To discuss the rationale for using outcome measures within supported living settings To discuss our reflections on this process so far There are lots of ways to measure quality of service and today we are talking about the ways we use standard outcome measures to measure progress

3 Liberty Care Ltd. Liberty Care Ltd, established since December 2005, provides support to over 70 individuals in 13 supported living services across South East Wales, run by Mr Gary Lewis, Operational Director Liberty Care supports adults with autism, LD, mental health conditions and those with dual diagnosis to live the lives they want, in their own homes in the community. Work within a PBS framework Liberty Care has a small clinical team (since 2016)

5 Process of individual outcome measures
Completed with every service user on a 6 monthly basis – May and November Completed by team lead/senior with service user Input outcomes data onto outcome measures excel database – providing statistical and percentage outcome data for each individual service user as well as per service and across LC. Each service user and service has their own excel spreadsheet Team leads and seniors receive support from clinical team to input and analyse the data Outcome reports written by clinical team members Outcome measures are valid, reliable and evidence based

18 Our own reflections Small numbers meaning that change is hard to monitor Other factors influence outcomes e.g. moving/feeling unwell/bereavement Flexible – e.g. changing outcome stars for individual services Some changes were made to the database and we continue providing support to team leaders re collecting, inputting and analysing outcomes and with preparing for PSR’s. Something is better than nothing First annual report is this summer Useful for highlighting strengths/weaknesses in each of the homes
