Information Management and Technology 67 Full Time Employees Currently 11 Exempt Directors, Project Mangers, Network Engineers, DBAs, Technical Manager, and Business Analysis The Banding is intended to look at the position not the person.

4 Evaluate the Jobs Determine the value of the job to an organization based on level of responsibility. Determine decision making requirements Divide jobs into one of Six Decision Bands Each Decision Band is subdivided into two grades, (coordinating and non-coordinating) or subclasses.

Technician This is the first level in the Information Technology Series. Incumbents are responsible for providing customer support on hardware or software issues. Responsibilities include: taking and documenting incoming calls and s; reviewing incoming software installation requests; updating and assigning incident requests; and installing and troubleshooting a wide variety of computer components. Information Technology Analyst Webmaster Business Systems Analyst This is the second level in the Information Technology Series. Incumbents are responsible for providing technical support regarding hardware, software, network, and database. Responsibilities may include: installing software, hardware and helpdesk; setting up system accounts; setting up phones, fax lines and voic ; testing and updating systems; maintaining network devices and the cable system; troubleshooting system problems; maintaining website and/or database; providing technical trainings and support to users; and ensuring system security. Information Technology Senior Analyst Database Administrator Senior Analyst Network Engineer This is the third level in the Information Technology Series. Incumbents are responsible for providing expert technical support regarding hardware, software, network, and database. Responsibilities may include: developing &/or maintaining computer programs by analyzing system issues and user requirements; documenting new and existing technical procedures for business processes; analyzing, designing and developing multi-tier web applications; designing and maintaining of databases. Information Technology Manager Director of Creative Services Technical Managers This is the fourth level in the Information Technology Series. Incumbents are responsible for providing expert technical support for systems that affect the entire University such as the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP), Student and Employee account provisioning systems, and Microsoft Active Directory. Responsibilities may include: managing back ups, assigning security, scheduling jobs, writing and implementing scripts, updating and patching operating systems, and and providing managerial direction to employees. Information Technology Director Dir. of App. and Databases This is the fifth level in the Information Technology Series. Incumbents are responsible for managing University wide information technology systems or programs. Responsibilities may include: providing technical leadership, vision and oversight for functional areas within the IT function; planning, evaluating, and monitoring University wide applications and database projects; and evaluating new technology that will benefit the university and accomplish the university’s computing mission. 5 Categories
