2 Journal #1: Shakespeare & You
Respond to the following questions in paragraph format. Write at least ½ page. What do you know about William Shakespeare? Have you read anything by him? What have you heard about his plays? What do you know about Romeo & Juliet? What are you looking forward to/not looking forward to about reading Romeo & Juliet?

3 Journal #2: A Note to a Friend
Respond to the following questions in paragraph format. Write at least 3/4 page. Note: You must include at least 3 words from your list of Shakespearean Vocabulary on your study guide. Underline each Shakespearean word you use. Imagine you are either Romeo or Juliet and you have just gotten home from the Capulet’s party. Write a note to a friend explaining your thoughts about what happened at the party. Some questions to consider… What did you think when you first saw your true love? What are you looking forward to? Nervous about? What are you going to do next?

Respond to the following questions in paragraph format. Write at least 3/4 page. Note: You must include at least 3 words from your list of Shakespearean Vocabulary on your study guide. Underline each Shakespearean word you use. Pretend you are either Romeo or Juliet’s close friend. What advice would you give him or her? Write this in a letter format to one of the characters. This composition needs to be at least 1⁄2 page. Think about the current situation and the character’s motivations and emotions.

Respond to the following questions in paragraph format. Write at least 3/4 page. How has Juliet changed since the start of the play? What evidence is there to support your opinion? Why do you think this change (if any) has occurred? Think about all of the events thus far and our prior knowledge of Juliet’s character. Use Academic Tone. No Shakespearean language.

Respond to the following questions in paragraph format. Write at least ½ page. How and why is Romeo and Juliet still relevant to teenagers today? Think about all we have discussed during this unit. Use Academic Tone
