Who am I? Read each statement and decide who the theory is
I believe the nuclear family is best as it socialises children properly, teaching the norms and values and helps prepare them for wider society. Crime exists to act as a role model for the wrong way to behave. If others see a criminal punished it reinforces socialisation and prevents anomie.
I believe that single parent families and benefit dependency are causing problems in our society. A lack of male role model mean more anti social boys are being created, which is the cause of crime in our society. A return to traditional values will reduce crime.
I believe that the family is a tool for exploitation. It means workers work hard for little money as they have to earn money to provide for their family and families teach values of hard work. People commit crimes when they are frustrated they cannot achieve goals legitimately.
I believe crime is a tool used by men to dominate women, for example domestic violence. I believe that when women do commit crime they are treated harshly as it is seen as double deviance as they are seen as socially wrong.
