2 Case Study MODULES IMPLEMENTED PROBLEM STATEMENT Demand Planning
To aid the Sales Plan finalisation for the next three months Allocation Planning To balance the stocks for all the SKUs across all the depots and optimise the production allocation to the Source plants for the Sales Plan Replenishment Planning To auto-create re-order points across the supply chain network The client is a Consumer Electricals Organisation with a large number of SKUs under multiple product lines sold across the country. Being an organisation that majorly follows MTS approach, the client wanted to streamline the entire Sales and Operations Planning process with specific emphasis on Demand Planning for the subsequent months, and Supply Planning of the finalised Sales Plan. The client was also looking for a solution to capture, monitor and maintain the records pertaining to FG orders placed with their Vendors and the consequent Quality department feedback.

3 Solution Demand Planning Allocation Planning Replenishment Planning
The module generates the statistical forecast basis the normalised sales history and is configured to follow a top down approach. The relevant inputs on the statistical forecast from the Sales Team, Product Managers and the thus arrived at consensus forecast is recorded and maintained in the tool Allocation Planning The stock for all the SKUs is then rebalanced basis the demand and available supply across all the stocking points. After stock rebalancing, the production of the netted off demand is allocated to the Manufacturing Plants to maximise the contribution basis price realisation, transportation costs, inventory handling costs, production cost and other costs if any; the inventory at the central warehouses is also taken care of while allocating the production. While optimising the allocation, various constraints such as Demand Satisfaction, Minimum Production Quantity, Inhouse Plant Capacities, Maintaining the Safety Stock at all the stocking points are also taken care of. Replenishment Planning The optimised supply network obtained from the Allocation module is passed to the Replenishment planning module as an input. The module auto generates re-order points basis the Supply network and related lead times, Sales Plan split across the month, Stock levels, Safety stock, Sales, and Stock Transactions for daily buckets. The tool then suggests the deployment plan from the source to the destination locations

4 Benefits The tool offers better visibility and transparency of the generated outputs to various users handling different roles in the supply chain hierarchy as per the relevancy. The closed loop nature of the data flow to and fro the ERP system and the tool makes the entire process relatively clean, faster and more efficient. Apart from the aggregated benefits, the various modules impact the process in the following manner: Demand planning module aids the process of achieving better forecast accuracy. Allocation planning module maximises the contribution by considering the various benefits and costs. Replenishment planning module generates dynamic reorder points and hence the inventory levels are controlled on a continuous basis The vendor portal enables recording and maintaining data which earlier was not recorded in the ERP thus, minimizing the probability of data loss
