Tiger Sharks Some of you may know the “Tiger Shark”, more commonly known as the “Sea Tiger". They are also known by another scientific name, the Galeocerdo Cuvier. These beautiful creatures are very long, length and width wise. The tiger shark is an omnivore. They are quite peaceful creatures but they are known to have caused many shark bite incidents.

Habitat Tiger sharks are known to live in the tropical waters located near Australia, New Zealand, the Caribbean Sea etc. They go to warmer waters and where theirs's plenty of food. They have also been sightings of them around India, Indonesia and even as far north of Japan.

Length & Width Tiger Sharks are one of the largest sharks in the world. On and average, they can grow up to around to 3m-4.9m in length. They can weigh up to about 900kg! That’s about 70 times as heavy as a gold block!

Eating Habits Tiger sharks are recorded for having the widest variety for food. These sharks can eat about anything! I call them the “Mean, keen, eating machine”! They can eat from turtles to birds to fish. They will also eat tires to car license plates to nails etc.

Why do they have Tiger stripes?
When Tiger sharks are born, they are born with dark, black stripes on the upper side of the body. The stripes measure up to 1.5m. As the tiger sharks grow older, the stripes fade. These stripes are similar to a normal tigers stripes.
