We ask this in your Name. Amen.

7 Gospel Values Take 2 minutes to review the list of Gospel values.
Answer the questions on the handout provided. Take another 2 minutes to share your answers with a partner sitting near you.

8 Gospel Values Extension Activity
Which Gospel values have you explicitly taught to your students in your classroom? Why would explicitly teaching Gospel values help form our students into disciples of Jesus Christ? If you incorporated Gospel values into your curriculum tomorrow, which ones would you explicitly focus on? Why? How would you creatively teach these Gospel values to your students?

9 Catholic Values Each of you will be in a group of 3 to 4.
Each group will be assigned a Catholic value to read and understand from the handout provided. Then, your group will come up with a creative way to teach this value to others in this room. This could be in the form of a skit, song, poem, prayer, meme, etc.

10 Catholic Values Extension Activity
Which Catholic values have you explicitly taught to your students in your classroom? Why would explicitly teaching Catholic values help form our students into disciples of Jesus Christ? If you incorporate Catholic values into your curriculum tomorrow, which ones would you explicitly focus on? Why? How would you creatively teach these Catholic values to your students?

11 Using Values and Writing Standards
In your small group, review an Un-wrapped Standard from yesterday. Identify at least 1 Gospel value and 1 Catholic value and discuss how they could enhance the context, concept, instructional focus and/or assessment of that standard. Write the Standard and Values on your poster paper. At the top of the paper, write down: Your First and Last Names Content Area and Grade Level(s) Room Number

12 Using Values To Teach Extension Activity
How will I develop curriculum differently as a result of this activity? How will my instruction change as a result of this activity? What are some new ways I can assess my students as a result of this activity?

13 Analyze a Lesson You will divide up into pairs.
As a pair, take 10 minutes to review the lesson plan. Identify Catholic elements by circling them. Then, discuss with your partner the following questions: How do these Catholic elements enhance the lesson plan? How can we improve it? What other elements might we add to it to increase its Catholicity? Also, the Catholic Integration Facilitator is available if you want to share your lesson plan improvements for his or her feedback.

14 Analyze a Lesson Extension Activity
Name the Writing concepts and skills you see in this lesson. As an English/ Language Arts teacher, how would you teach these concepts and skills in your English/ Language Arts curriculum?
