2 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:14 NKJV Sin or temptation can no longer control us because we are no longer governed by what gives sin it’s power, but we are governed by God’s overwhelming desire for us to enjoy the win in life.

3 15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. 16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. 18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. Romans 7:15-19 NLT

4 THE PROBLEM IS RELIGION and it has infiltrated every part of society
THE PROBLEM IS RELIGION and it has infiltrated every part of society. The word “religion” is a Latin expression: “re”–back, again; “legio”–obligation, bond/bind, reverence. So it’s meaning is “to bind again.” Religion is focused on some type of LAW and we’ve been programmed to approach our “issues in life” and God in this way.

5 “The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.” Romans 8:3 NLT

6 don’t even THINK about it!
graced Law Grace don’t even THINK about it!

7 God expects us to shift our focus away from these commandments and any others we may create and set our focus on His Son - Jesus.

8 ““Don’t misunderstand why I have come
““Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.” Matthew 5:17-18 NLT

9 Because of Christ, We No Longer Need to Focus on the Law
“He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.” Ephesians 2:15-16 NLT

10 The Law was a Temporary Guardian, Substitute Teacher, Baby-Sitter, Tutor
“Before the way of faith in Christ was available to us, we were placed under guard by the law. We were kept in protective custody, so to speak, until the way of faith was revealed. Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith. And now that the way of faith has come, we no longer need the law as our guardian.” Galatians 3:23-25 NLT

11 Everyone got a “F” Failing Grade
“But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under his curse, for the Scriptures say, “Cursed is everyone who does not observe and obey all the commands that are written in God’s Book of the Law.” So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” This way of faith is very different from the way of law, which says, “It is through obeying the law that a person has life.”” Galatians 3:11-12 NLT “For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me…” Galatians 2:19a

12 Forget about Trying to Obey Religious Laws
“Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.” Romans 10:1-4 NLT “For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.” Galatians 2:19 NLT

13 His Sacrifice & Resurrection was done to Free Our Minds
"But when the Messiah arrived, high priest of the superior things of this new covenant, he bypassed the old tent and its trappings in this created world and went straight into heaven's "tent"—the true Holy Place—once and for all. He also bypassed the sacrifices consisting of goat and calf blood, instead using his own blood as the price to set us free once and for all. If that animal blood and the other rituals of purification were effective in cleaning up certain matters of our religion and behavior, think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out. Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us [our minds] from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can LIVE ALL OUT FOR GOD." Hebrews 9:11 – 15 MSG

14 SIN IS NO LONGER MY MASTER, because THE LAW IS NO LONGER MY FOCUS!
FREE YOUR MIND! For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14 NKJV SIN IS NO LONGER MY MASTER, because THE LAW IS NO LONGER MY FOCUS!
