1 Task: Salary Increase/Decrease
Task Definition: Increase or decrease an employee’s salary. In this task – Update the salary information via Roles and Distributions In PennWorks, once you have completed the ‘Find/Add a Person’ search, you can select the Salary Increase/Decrease from the Roles/Distributions tab Steps – From the Task drop-down list: Select Salary Increase/Decrease Update appropriate fields as required For salary changes to staff, H.R. Compensation enters the new salary in the Annual Amount or Hourly Rate field, you only need to accept the change* Add/update Distributions accordingly See the Add/Update Distributions task for details *Compensation Change Control Policy - Salary changes for staff with a Position Inventory Number must be authorized in advance by Human Resources Compensation if the change is outside of the annual Merit Increase Program. H.R. Compensation will enter the new salary amount and notify you as to when you can accept (i.e. process) the change. To see this in PennWorks...click here

Click Salary Increase/Decrease to advance to the next screen From the Roles Summaries drop-down list, select Salary Increase/Decrease

Update Role and Distribution information as required Click [Submit] to complete Once H. R. Compensation has approved the change, accept the new salary amount by updating the Distribution and clicking [Submit] Employees subject to Compensation Control cannot have their salaries changed without preapproval from H. R. Compensation
