3 Farm Storage Facility Loans (FSFLs)

4 Farm Storage Facility Loans Are
Low Interest Loans For: Building, purchasing or renovating storage Structures purchasing handling Equipment. Structures & Equipment to store and or handle crops you produced.

5 You are eligible for an FSFL If:
You produce the crop you are looking to take out a loan for. You demonstrate the ability to make the Down Payment and yearly installment payment.

6 Loan Details Applicants need to provide detailed financial information to FSA about their Business. Including a balance sheet & projected cash flow statement. Terms of 3-15 Year depending on Amount of Loan and if the Loans are paid on an Annual Basis. Can pay monthly/by monthly etc. as long as total annual installment amount is paid timely.

7 Crop Insurance & the Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP)

8 Crop Insurance & NAP NAP
Multi Peril Coverage on any and All Natural Disasters for Honey Production. Coverage attaches to all Colonies within the united states for the whole crop year Crop insurance Single Peril Coverage for Lack of Precipitation on honey pollination & Breeding stock Based on NOAA Rainfall Indexes & Correlated Honey Production (not your actual Production) Must choose to insure Colonies by geographic location and by two month time periods If you are not growing a crop that is insurable in a county: and for many minor fruits and almost all vegetables that is the case then producers have two options. NAP (noninsured crop Disaster Assistance Program & Whole Farm Revenue Coverage. These are very different insurance options. And they offer somewhat different coverage NAP is considered a form of Yield coverage: That means that it is protecting you against losses to your production. Not against any other Risk to your farm like having fewer members sign up for a CSA or Reastraunts paying you less for your produce. Furthermore, NAP only provides coverage for losses due to Adverse Natural occurrences like floods, abnormally wet years, droughts or diseases directly related to these occurrences Whole Farm Revenue coverage as it sounds is a form of Revenue Coverage. It is based on your Tax Returns (you need at least the last 5 years) and provides you with protection against overall losses to your Farms Revenue. However it only provides protection against losses due to adverse natural occurrences.

You maintain the Colonies for Commercial purposes (Honey production, pollination services, or sale or splits etc.) You are not a Foreign Person You are Compliant with Highly erodible and Wetland Conservation You are complaint with Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) Provisions (You Make less then 900,000 AGI)

10 Dates to Keep in Mind for NAP
December 1st Deadline to Apply for NAP Coverage on Honey January 2nd Deadline to timely file a Beginning Colony inventory Must report Loss within 15 calendar days of when loss becomes apparent

11 Emergency Livestock Disaster Assistance Program (ELAP)

12 ELAP Provides: Disaster assistance to Eligible Honeybee producers who suffer colony or Hive losses due to Adverse Natural Occurrences & or Colony Collapse Disorder. ELAP Reimburses Honeybee producers At $ per eligible lost Colony At $ per eligible Lost Hive For all documented Honey bee feed losses & Feed expenditures above normal ELAP provides Assistance Not to exceed $125,000 annually

13 You’re Eligible for ELAP Assistance:
You owned the Colonies at the time of the Disaster You maintain the Colonies for Commercial purposes (Honey production, pollination services, or sale or splits etc.) You are not a Foreign Person You are Compliant with Highly erodible and Wetland Conservation You are complaint with Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) Provisions (You Make less then 900,000 AGI)

14 Dates to Keep in Mind for ELAP
January 2nd Deadline to timely file a Beginning Colony inventory 30 Calendar Days from when a Loss is Apparent Deadline to file a Notice of Loss. November1st deadline to file an Application for Payment
