2. Introduction:
The LLM in Chinese Business and Commercial Law at Beijing Foreign Studies University is designed for international students, legal professionals and business people who would like to study Chinese Business and Commercial Law in English. The LLM Program also affords the opportunity to forge professional ties, learn the Chinese language and experience China’s rich culture and history.

3. Start Date:
The program begins in September of each year. Students can apply up to the start of the program, but it is advised to apply at least two month before in order to receive the admissions decision and visa documents in time.

4. Admission Requirements:
Students need to have an undergraduate degree as recognized by the Ministry of Education of China and be fluent in English. If English is not the homeland official language, applicants need to have an English level certificate, as TOFEL above 90, IELTS above 6. The program is open to law and non-law graduates.

5. Fees
The tuition fee for the LLM is RMB128,000 for each of the two years. The tuition fee should be paid either in full at the start of the program, or in installments with RMB64,000paid in the first semester of the first year, and RMB64,000 paid in the second semester of the first year.

6. Scholarships
Scholarships are available for students who want to study on the Residential LLM Program.

7. Mode of study:
The LLM program runs for a period of 2 years. The first year is for taking the classes and the second year is for completing the dissertation and taking internships.

9. Internships
Students who are enrolled on the program will have the opportunity to take work experience at a top 5 law firm in China at any point during the two years they are enrolled on the LLM program. We will make inquiries into suitable internships when students are enrolled on the program through connections with the law school. The internship period depends on each student and the type of internship that they seek. The purpose of the internship is to gain practical experience and skills working in a Chinese law firm.
