New Terminology Presently referred to ATAR - Australian Tertiary Admission Rank 2000 point scale from 99.5 (highest) to 0 (lowest) in increments of 0.05 OP - Overall Position 1(highest) – 25 (lowest) General subjects Authority subjects Applied subjects Authority registered subjects ATAR – Australian Tertiary

3 External exams All GENERAL subjects will involve external exams. These are: Common to all schools Administered same conditions, same time, same day Developed and marked by the QCAA.

4 External Exams contribution
General Maths and Science subjects – external examinations will contribute 50% of final result All other General subjects contribute 25% of final subject result.

10 Reminders… Every student must select: An English subject
A Mathematics subject Six subjects. Students CANNOT select: Both Essential English and General English Both Essential Maths and General Maths.

21 Learning Snapshot Record your Target/goal results for each subject; achievement, effort & behaviour in this column Fill in your Semester One Subjects & results, achievement, effort & behaviour in this column What are some strategies to help you improve your results? Eg. I did not use feedback from draft, easily distracted E.g. Change who I sit next to, use feedback to improve assignment, attend tutorials Why did you receive these results? Ask WPP teacher for Semester One results if you are unsure

22 ‘Personal’ Tab continued… Click ‘Add New’ to jot down your strengths, areas to improve, Interests & Goals Don’t record the career categories and career name in this INTERESTS section (it gets entered later in another section). Only list the areas of general interest such as, sport, fishing & travel

TAFE, UQ, CQU Are you starting a school based traineeship or apprenticeship? If yes, record details that you know such as start date, employer, position, hours etc. Are you interested in SOURCING a traineeship or apprenticeship? What area?

27 Career Search Click on green arrow next to best option
Choose from drop down box options Type career name in here then Search Click on green arrow next to best option

28 Choose the Institute of your choice from drop down box and the Course Type (Bachelor, Diploma etc) if you don’t know the exact Course Name. This then gives you options to choose from. Select the green tick to choose a Course If starting a SAT fill in any details that you know and press SAVE If interested in sourcing a SAT for yourself type the area in the ‘Other Details’ section. Press SAVE

29 Choose at least ONE; English & at least one Maths Subject Selection Friday Week 5 this will show the ‘Smorgasbord’ to click on and enter Monday Week 7 the actual subject choices in the line structure will be available Remember – for an ATAR you must study either; At 5 GENERAL subjects or 4 GENERAL subjects & an APPLIED subject or a Cert III Choose ONE Subject from each line (1-6) Make sure it relates to your chosen pathway Subjects with an asterisk * next to them are Applied subjects Not correct subject names or the ones being offered at NRHS (just an example) not in One School yet
