Modeling Multiplication equations: 1) x = 15 If 3 “x’s” are 15, then how much would one “x” be?? x = 5 2) x = 16 x = 4

4 5x = -55 5 5 x = -11 Multiplication equations:
To solve a multiplication equation, we perform the __________________________ operation. In other words, we ________________________________ on both sides of the equation!!! inverse DIVIDE example: 5x = -55 x = -11 Find the # with “x.” This is the coefficient. Then, DIVIDE on both sides by that # !!
