2 How you might foster self giving love (liturgy) in the school community
LIBERATING EDUCATION We open hearts and minds, through quality teaching and learning experiences, so that through critical reflection and engagement each person is hope-filled and free to build a better world for all Use ritual actions and symbols in the classroom and at assemblies: find moments and reasons to praise, give thanks and bless

3 How you might foster self giving love (liturgy) in the school community
GOSPEL SPIRITUALITY We invite all people into the story of Jesus and strive to make his message of compassion, justice and peace a living reality within our community. Help students, parents and other staff recognise that all are already Christ bearers through initiation and so are engaged in the work of liturgy in their daily lives – help them make the connection

4 How you might foster self giving love (liturgy) in the school community
INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY Our community is accepting and welcoming, fostering right relationships and committed to the common good. Highlight and value meal sharing Notice and acknowledge self giving actions ritually and also verbally Look for and name contributions from the quiet or unpopular students

5 JUSTICE AND SOLIDARITY
How you might foster self giving love (liturgy) in the school community JUSTICE AND SOLIDARITY We are committed to justice and peace for all, grounded in a spirituality of action and reflection that calls us to stand in solidarity with those who are marginalised and the Earth itself. Examine the cosmic and liturgical symbols of water, oil, fire, bread and wine Make sure acts of justice and peace are ritualised in liturgical celebrations: e.g. collections are brought to the altar, or presented in the context of ritual at an assembly
