The Power of Praise and Worship! Ps. 149
Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints. Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.

The Power of Praise and Worship!
As believers we are called to be people of praise and worship. The word of God is full of scriptures telling us to praise and worship the Lord our God. Psalm 150: “Praise the Lord.” Psalm 98:1: “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.”

Psalm 100, “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. The scriptures go on and on about praising and worshipping the Lord. There should be a joyful noise in the camp!

The Power of Praise and Worship!
God wants worshipping people. We as a people come together as a congregation to worship the Lord. Congregational worship is a special time set aside for all of us to worship and be in the Lord’s presence.
7
The Power of Praise and Worship!
We are all called to worship God. We are created to praise and worship the Lord. God has given some great voices to sing and some cannot carry a tune. However, we are all called to worship.
8
The Power of Praise and Worship!
God gets pleasure out of our worship. He enjoys our singing and dancing before him. He tells us to praise his name in the dance. He even says sing aloud in your bed. In other words, praise anywhere and anytime.

Congregational Worship and High Praise!

The Power of Praise and Worship!
Because we are in a spirit of unity God begins to move and manifest himself in different ways. Because God is in the midst we go through levels of praise and worship. Psalm 149: 6, “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two edged sword in their hand."

The Power of Praise and Worship!
The root word for hallelujah is “halal.” It means to celebrate with exuberance, clamorous loud, to boast in the Lord. The high praise of God is intense. When David brought the ark back to Jerusalem there was intense worship and dancing before the Lord. I Chronicles 15:27-29, II Samuel 6:16.
12
The Power of Praise and Worship!
In Ezra 3:10-13, “halal” is used as a great shout. In times of battles warriors go into battle with a shout that would often surprise and put fear into the heart of the enemy. Joshua 6:20, Judges 7:19-22 Our victory is in our shout and worship. When we learn to worship it gives us victory. The enemy cannot stand around in the midst of praise and worship. II Chronicles 20 chapter, the enemy scatters because the people worship.
13
The Power of Praise and Worship!
As we worship in Spirit and Truth we begin to form a habitation of praise or place of praise where God comes in the midst and sings among us. Hebrews: 2:12 “Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.” This is part of a high praise of God!

The Power of Praise and Worship!
Worshipping in the midst of the congregational will birth new songs. In II Chronicles 7, when King Solomon and the people dedicated the temple, God moved while the people worshipped and praised Him.
15
The Power of Praise and Worship!
It is through our worship that God deals with kings, presidents and other leaders in authority. Satan is on the war path and using those in authority to come against the church world. He is the god of this world. II Corinthians 4:4 - The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

The Power of Praise and Worship!
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. II Corinthians 10:4,5
17
The Power of Praise and Worship!
God wants to move as we give him glory. As we worship we get our breakthrough. We receive healing, Discouragement leaves. We receive victory. Leaders change. Worship! Worship!
