Lessons from Isaiah God’s Open Arms
In the will and its license, falsely called liberty, lies the mischief. (E. Johnson) August 12, 2018

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

2 Peter 1:3-4 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him Who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

Isaiah 65:1 I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by My name.

Romans 10:20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say, “I have been found by those who did not seek Me; I have shown Myself to those who did not ask for Me.” But of Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

Isaiah 65:1 I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by My name.

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.

Isaiah 65:1 I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by My name.

Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

John 15:4-11

Isaiah 65:1 I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for Me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek Me. I said, “Here I am, here I am,” to a nation that was not called by My name.

Isaiah 65:2 I spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;

God’s Way Vs. Man’s Way Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death. Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Isaiah 65:2 I spread out My hands all the day to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, following their own devices;

For Our Consideration How do you know you are thinking and acting correctly? What does abiding in Christ mean to you and how do we do it? We are told to seek the Lord, what does that mean to you? What is your view of God’s love towards you?

Prayer Focus Thank You Father for Your great love for us. Thank You for Your Word to renew our minds and provide guidance for our daily lives. Thank You for never leaving or forsaking us, ever!
