As you come in, get a Chromebook, but don’t start Membean just yet. I need to go over something with you first.

2. Announcements Membean test on Thursday
You will have a benchmark test on January 29th. This will be a full-scale STAAR EOC test and will be conducted with all of the same procedures.

3. Article of the week
Beginning this week, we will be reading and responding to an article each week. These articles will be from reputable news sources and will deal with current issues and events. In addition to reading the article, each week you will:
Annotate the article by summarizing points as you read and marking any points of confusion.
Noting your personal thoughts and opinions about the topic.
Answering several questions after you read.
As we move forward, you will transition from responding to questions to writing a response essay…but that will be a few weeks down the line.
