4. What Is an EIB
Enterprise Interface Builder – is a Workday customized Excel document in an .xml format. These templates are used to automatically complete a transaction event. This concept is very much like Lawson’s Add-ins.

Overview Tab
Request Compensation Change – Processing Instructions
Should always be Automatic Processing – This allows the event to complete without following the Business Process
B - Spreadsheet Key
– Sequentially number the rows even if an employee is on multiple rows
C – Employee ID
Employee ID is used in the field
D – Position ID
Can remain blank if the employee only has 1 position
Must be populated if the employee has more than 1 position
E - Compensation Change Date
Effective date of the Compensation Change

G - Employee Visibility Date
This field is optional and is used if loading data prior to the effective date and you do not want employees seeing the change prior to the effective date
H – Reason/General Event Sub-category ID
Use the Reference ID for the Business Object Instance
N - Compensation Grade – applicable if updating
Use the Reference ID
O - Compensation Grade Profile – applicable if updating

7. Reviewing the Template
P - Compensation Step - applicable if using Step and being updated
Use Reference ID
S - Row ID
Use the number 1. This is used to identify the load number for the employee
U – Amount
The amount of the increase. This value can’t exceed 5 places after the decimal
Location for templates
The latest version of the templates will be updated when applicable at the link below on Service Now; You can copy and paste the link.

8. Launching the EIB in Workday
Once you have populated the template; you will launch the EIB Integration in Workday.
Go to the search box and type “Launch” and choose Launch/Schedule Integration
Next you will search for the latest version of the Request Compensation Change EIB (the latest version will ALWAYS be created by someone on the HR Tech Team)
Select Request Compensation Change_v28

You absolutely should always launch the EIB in Validation mode initially and until you have corrected all errors
After attaching the file; go to Validation Mode Only and select the drop down and change to Specify Value and check the value box as indicated below and click OK

You will click the Refresh button until the Percent Complete reaches 100%

If you receive this error below, it is because you have most likely added an additional Sheet to the template

Once the event reaches 100%, scroll to the bottom to check your processing history and/or errors. Open the failure report to review errors. Continue in validation mode until all errors have been removed.

Once the event reaches 100%, scroll to the bottom of the page to view the Integration successfully loaded all records
