3. Global Grants: WHY ???
Mission of Rotary : Advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders-
- NO better way than International Projects
Overall 75% of our contributions available only for projects funded by global grants.
Global grants can be used for projects in our communities – something often overlooked.

TRF allocates 50% to DDF and 50% to World Fund
World Fund only available for Global Grant Projects
Districts must use at least 50% of allocated DDF for Global Grants and balance 50% can be used for District Grants or global grants-
- Thus sharing formula allocates 75% to GG projects( includes Polio Plus)

6. Global Grants: Club Qualifications
1. Similar as District Grants:
Attend Grant Management Seminar
Club must enter 3 Goals in Club Central
- Annual Fund/Polio/Membership
Must be current with District dues
Integrate club data base with District data base
2. Additional Requirement:
Submit signed copy of MOU
No overdue reports or outstanding issues for previous global grants

7. Global Grants: Eligible Activities
Support international activities within Rotary’s 6 Areas of Focus :
Humanitarian Projects which address community needs
Vocational Training
Scholarships – International graduate level study

8. Global Grants: Ineligible Activities
Investment in infrastructure – land, building , renovations ( exceptions are low cost shelters and simple schools)
Primarily research related projects
Establishment of a Foundation, trust or interest bearing account ( exception – micro credit fund)
Undergraduate studies
Expenses relating to Rotary events or Fundraising activities

9. Global Grants: TRF Requirements
Project minimum budget = $30,000
Must have Host Club and International club partnering : Host Driven
30% of funding from International partners.
Any number of Clubs and Districts can join to support one project
Community Assessment – New requirement
Long term impact – Sustainability
Community/ Rotarians involvement and focus on training
Measurable outcomes

10. Global Grants: Financing the Project
District 7475 will match club contribution 1:1
“First Come, First Served” basis - better to apply early in the year. TRF approves year round basis.
Push for contributions from host club and their District.
Approach other clubs in 7475 to join
TRF will match 100% of DDF and 50% of club or private contributions

16. GLOBAL GRANT APPLICATION
Applications submitted online:
New Grant Center started 2016
No application deadlines, except for scholarships (30 June)
Submit application at least days prior to travel
Global grant applications are submitted online. The grant application tool is accessible by going to Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year; there are no application deadlines. However, if your application includes travel, please ensure that it is submitted at least 90 days before the travel is scheduled to begin.
The following slides will discuss ten ways that you can improve your global grant application.

17. Global Grant: Application Approval Process
Application submitted online in the Grant Center
Two Regional Grants Officers review the application in consultation with the Area of Focus Manager
It helps to limit GG request to one Area of Focus
If a decline is being recommended, a large group of staff meets to discuss the application and to make a decision
Grant officers may ask for additional information
Notification to all parties by e mail
