2 Trouble in Massachusetts
How is the engraving an example of Propaganda? How did the Boston Massacre affect British policies and relations between the two sides? What was Samuel Adams's reaction to the Boston Massacre? How did this help to spread propaganda against Great Britain?

3 Trouble in Massachusetts
How did the Boston Massacre begin? Who was Crispus Attucks? John Adams, a lawyer and future Founder, defended the British soldiers in their trial. Why do you think Adams defended them? Little is known about Crispus Attucks, but it is thought that he probably spent much of his life aboard whaling ships. During the Boston Massacre on March 5, 1770, Attucks was among the first to fall. He therefore became one of the first men to die for the cause of American independence. On March 8, Attucks and the others killed with him were buried in a common grave.
