Two Step Process for Grades
TRADITIONAL 2 STEP PROCESS GRADING BINS: Tests, Daily Work, Projects, Papers, Finals Each bin is an average of all scores (assignments) in that bin Each bin has a separate percentage weight (ie: 40% Tests/Quizzes; 20% projects; 20% labs; 20% Final) 2) Each bin’s composite letter grade and weight contributed to the letter grade at the end of the course STANDARDS BASED 2 STEP PROCESS GRADING BINS: Standards Each bin has pieces of evidence, which put more weight on the most recent score: Weighted Trend Each bin has a composite Proficiency Grade: E, M, APP, BG Computation to Letter Grade Standards Proficiency Marks for each standard contribute to the overall letter grade

Notes for : Continue to have traditional letter grades on transcripts: A, B, C, D, F Students can re-assess on standards to improve proficiency All courses will be in the SB gradebook in the HS except a few AP courses and dual credit courses With NGSS Science Standards, the proficiency estimates have to be determined through 3 Dimensional Instruction: Content, Cross Cutting Concepts and Science and Engineering Practices--they will pilot a “mode” calculation between those 3 Dimensions (child to parent standards). This is also true for World Language Competencies. Letter grade determination will remain the same. This may be an avenue for elementary in the future.
