9. Beyond the basics of successful leadership
Leadership effects are usually largest where and when they are needed most. Individual leaders actually behave differently (and productively) depending on the circumstances they are facing and the people with whom they are working We need to develop leaders with large repertoires of practices and capacity to chose from the repertoire as needed, not leaders trained in the delivery of one “ideal” set of practices.

10. Balanced leadership
Effective leadership means more than simply knowing what to do – it’s knowing when, how and why to do it. Effective leaders understand how to balance pushing for change while at the same time, protecting aspects of culture, values and norms worth preserving.
