1 Figure 1 Histopathology of low-grade glioma
Figure 1 | Histopathology of low-grade glioma. a–d | Histology of a diffuse astrocytoma that expresses mutant isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1 Arg132His) protein, exhibits a loss of expression of ATRX protein (consistent with an ATRX mutation) and exhibits overexpression of p53 protein (consistent with a TP53 mutation). e–i | Histology of an oligodendroglioma that expresses mutant IDH1 Arg132His protein and shows expression of ATRX and a 1p19q codeletion (as shown by fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) in parts h–i) FISH probes in part h include one copy of 1p probe (red, targeted to TP73 at 1p36.3), and two copies of 1q probe (green, targeted to ABL2 at 1q25); FISH probes in part i show two copies of 19p probe (green, targeted to locus D19S221 at19p13) and one copy of 19q probe (red, targeted to EDH2 at 19q13).
