2 Holy Ground In The Bible
Ex 3:5-6 Then He said, "Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground." 6 Moreover He said, "I am the God of your father — the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

3 What Made This Ground Holy ?
Moses first noticed the bush that burned with fire but was not consumed An Angel appeared to him in a flame of fire within the burning bush But we see that God noticed that he turned aside to see this great sight and called to him from the midst of the bush NOTICE WHAT GOD SAYS TO MOSES

4 God gives Moses a warning!
“Do not draw near this place,” says God. But keep in mind that God called him over to see this burning bush Take your sandals off your feet for the place where you stand is “holy ground”. Near enough to hear but careful with your curiousity and lack of reverence because you are standing on holy ground Moses was in the presence of God

5 How would you react today in:
District or Federal Court before a Judge At a funeral before a grieving family Appearing before Congress to answer questions about steriod use On a witness stand answering questions at a capital murder trial for your life At the scene of an accident where you just ran over a young child

6 This is what God desires today!
Our respect for his presence! Where is God present today? Ps 139: If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me 12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

7 Is There Holy Ground Today ?
Yes - It is all around us Ps 139:1-6 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it.

8 Ps 139:7-8 Where can I go from Your Spirit
Ps 139: Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; 12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.

9 What Makes It Holy ? Being in the presence of God
Ps 114:7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, Ps 97:5-6 The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord, At the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. 6 The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory. God’s power and might SHOULD BE reverenced Lev 22: You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel. I am the Lord who sanctifies you, 33 who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the Lord."

10 How Do We Keep It Holy ? Ps 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. Ezek 39:7-8 So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Surely it is coming, and it shall be done," says the Lord God. "This is the day of which I have spoken.

11 Be careful not to forget!
Deut 8:11-17 "Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today, 12 lest — when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them; 13 and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; 14 when your heart is lifted up, and you forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

12 15 who led you through that great and terrible wilderness, in which were fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty land where there was no water; who brought water for you out of the flinty rock; 16 who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that He might humble you and that He might test you, to do you good in the end — 17 then you say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.'
