2. One sure partner – Who is not a Junior
Do some acting – ask someone to cry, be sad, not sure what to do next…what would you say about that person?
What would you say a person felt about you if they created you, if they died in your place?
This is a teaching series and I didn’t really want this subject – I thought the others were more meaty and easier to do a good job with. But in fact the whole series is about getting to know our God better. What’s the benefit? When you get to know someone better the impact of that relationship will have positive implications in your lives. So, I hope you want to get to know the Holy Spirit better, he is after all God!

Personality
He is not a force or a thing, but has personality/attributes, characteristics and can experience both joy & grief
Power.
How he wants to work in the church and the world, in gifts that are both vocal, powerful and practical
Partner
How the Holy Spirit works in perfect harmony with the Father, the Son and Believers
Presence
How he is actively at work in both God’s world and the Church, bringing about God’s will and purposes

6. An error to be avoided
Squeezing the Holy Spirit into OUR dictionary definition of PARTNERSHIP
Scripture MUST interpret scripture , it’s a template of how HE expresses/reveals himself

7. Our key text
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering ( brooding) over the face of the waters.

8. The father
Gen 1:26 We see the Holy Spirit in partnership actively involved from Chaotic Mass to Created Mankind , from Covenant People, to Christ's Life & Calvary to Commissioned Church, to Consummated Relationship (Christ's Bride). All as part of FATHERS plan of Salvation.
Sometimes he is to the fore, sometimes in the background or symbolic, but always a vital and active partner.
Conc: We see a panorama of the FATHER partnering with the Holy Spirit

9. The SON
Through all of scripture we see the Holy Spirit partnering the SON, Anointing , Empowering, Guiding , Strengthening.
CONC: The Holy Spirit is a Personal, Powerful and indispensable part of the SONS ministry

10. The believer
The Holy Spirit MUST be an active partner in the Christians life in giftings and attributes
SO— How do you become an effective partner with the Holy Spirit ?
Stir up and eagerly desire gifts
Conc: The natural life of any believer MUST be in partnership with the Holy Spirit

11. Key Learning point
The Holy Spirit, is our all powerful, self-effacing partner, we must not treat him lightly.

12. Sermon in a sentence
The FATHER, SON and SPIRIT function as a glorious PARTNERSHIP of Co-Equals, operating through the believer.
