6. Family Promise
The mission: to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence.
Over 200 programs across the nation
200,000 volunteers across the nation
76% of the families that enter the program are independent within 9 weeks

7. How does Family Promise work?
13 churches team up to provide overnight shelter and food for homeless children and their parents.
Each church hosts the guests 4 times/year, for 7 evenings in the church building.
There are currently 37 other participating churches in Wichita.
During the day Family Promise employees coordinate schooling for the children and assist the parents in job searches and skills training.
