3 Intro Death is a concept in works of literature that authors often develop in order to dramatize and convey important messages. Death can be included as the actual act of human demise, but may also be dealt with simply as a concept that threatens the existence of human society or human individual actions. In 127 Hours by Aron Ralston and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott. Fitzgerald death is a reminder of the reckless nature of characters.
