What is the ACCESS Test? ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 is an English language proficiency assessment for Grades K–12. The test is administered every year to help school districts monitor the English language development of students identified as English language learners.
8
What is the purpose of the test?
ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 measures students’ abilities to understand and produce English used within school settings. The four sections of the test are Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing.
9
Who takes this test? When do they take it?
All children identified as English Language Learners. This includes students whose parents have refused ESL/Bilingual services The testing will begin March 12th with first and second graders, followed by kindergarten. This will last about four weeks. We work collaboratively with the classroom teachers to insure minimal disruption to their classtime. During this time, your child will not attend ESL classes.
